Research is carried out in interdisciplinary core research areas, in which scientists, engineers, and technicians of all departments collaborate for a certain period.
At present, the six core research areas of the PDI are:
- Ferromagnet-Semiconductor Hybrid Structures
- Control of Elementary Excitations by Acoustic Fields
- III-V Nanowires for Optoelectronics
- Intersubband Emitters: GaAs-based Quantum-Cascade-Lasers
The Scientific Advisory Board
According to the institute's bylaws, the scientific advisory board advises the director in all scientific matters, comments annually on the research activites of the institute and discusses the scientific strategy. For a list of the recent members of the scientific advisory board, please click here.
