Technology and Services

This department is headed by the Assistant to the Director, Dr. Carsten Hucho. and combines the responsibilities for the technology at the institute with the non-scientific services (Maintenance, Machine Shop, Administration, etc.).

Technology 

The scientific head of the technology is Dr. Abbes Tahraoui. He oversees the cleanroom-operation and coordinates the activities with the needs of the other three research-departments.

Leibniz Applikationslabor

PDI shares it's know-how in semiconductor processing and technology to support small and medium-sized businesses in developing technological ideas to the point where a prototype can be presented. These activities are a joint project with Ferdinand-Braun-Institut known as Leibniz Applikationslabor Mikrowellentechnik, Opto- und Festkörperelektronik.

Services

The technical and administrative infrastructure is responsible for central service tasks arising from the research activities of the institute.
