ASTP-Proton On-Site Training, 4.11.2014

In combination with the kick-off meeting of the new BMBF funding cycle on technology transfer, PDI will invite one of the leading figures in technology transfer worldwide, Jeff Skinner (Deloitte Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, London Business School), for a one day training workshop to the institute. The workshop is organized in collaboration with ASTP-Proton.

Jeff Skinner, Executive Director, Deloitte Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at London Business School.

The workshop will give a hands-on introduction to important aspects within knowledge and technology transfer in Europe, focusing on aspects that are particularly relevant to tech transfer professionals at public research institutions in Germany.

All sessions are deliberately interactive and learning happens as much through participant discussion and debate as it does through formal instruction. Running three sessions in a day enables to run the workshop more interactively, enabling discussion in groups and in class.

The themes of the workshop are:

  1. The purpose of the TT role – what are our objectives, what will we be measured on? Setting strategy and objectives for a KTO.
  2. Our role in leading effective Tech Transfer – as ‘Commercial Director’. The Technology Transfer manager as strategist.
  3. Dealing with the obstacles and complexities of the role. Structuring complex research collaborations.

More detailed information on the  workshop can be downloaded here. Participation is limited to 25 participants and open to Technology Transfer Professionals within the Leibniz Association. Remaining seats are open for external participants. Registration is possible until 19.10.2014 via email to moeller@pdi-berlin.de
