PDI is one of the world's leading centers for molecular beam epitaxy and semiconductor research, located in the heart of Berlin. With around 100 employees from more than 15 countries, PDI combines excellent fundamental research with a strong commitment to technology transfer and collaboration with industry and academic partners.

We welcome scientists, technicians, and students at all career stages, from thesis projects and doctoral positions to postdoctoral fellowships, visiting scientist stays, and long-term collaboration. If you are interested in working with us, we are happy to discuss how best to make it happen.

Research at PDI happens in a close-knit, international environment. We socialize, run in the Firmenlauf, organize outings and seasonal gatherings, and regularly open the institute to the public through science events, lab tours, and an artist-in-residence programme. The city does the rest.
