Departments & Research Groups

The organizational structure of the institute consists of four departments and several independent research groups, each representing a specific area of expertise. This structure helps allocate resources effectively and ensures that the institute's research covers a broad range of topics. While departments provide a stable foundation for long-term research directions, research groups focus on emerging topics and foster innovation in specialized fields.

Research at the institute is not confined to individual departments or groups but instead encourages collaboration among researchers, engineers, and technicians across the institute. This multidisciplinary approach allows for the convergence of diverse perspectives and expertise in Core Research Areas (CReAs).

Research Groups

At PDI, our research groups explore cutting-edge topics in semiconductor physics, quantum materials, and computational modeling. Each group is independently led by a PDI research fellow, fostering a dynamic environment that encourages innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
