Akustische Anregung ermöglicht kontrollierte Kondensation von Licht und Materie auf einem Chip

11.03.2026 / Press releases

Researchers at PDI have demonstrated a way to control the condensation of hybrid light-matter particles in semiconductor microcavities. By using coherent acoustic waves to dynamically reshape the system’s energy landscape, the team steered a macroscopic quantum state into its lowest energy configuration. The results, published in Nature Photonics, open new routes for engineering nonequilibrium quantum states and developing ultrafast, tunable photonic technologies.

PDI-Beteiligung an NSF–DFG-DMREF-Initiative zum Atoms-to-Device-Materialdesign

11.12.2025 / Press releases

Das PDI freut sich, seine Beteiligung an einem neu geförderten Projekt mit dem Titel „Atoms-to-Device Closed-Loop Predictive Design of Electro-Optic Materials for Quantum Photonic Circuits" bekannt zu geben. Das Projekt wird im Rahmen des Programms „Designing Materials to Revolutionize and Engineer our Future" (DMREF) der US-amerikanischen National Science Foundation (NSF) gefördert, über eine gemeinsame NSF–DFG-Partnerschaft, die die kollaborative Materialforschung zwischen Einrichtungen in Deutschland und den Vereinigten Staaten unterstützt.
