PDI at Berlin Science Week 2025: Carsten Hucho at “The Teufelsberg Campus – Reimagine Transformation”
While PDI is not hosting its own event at Berlin Science Week this year, Carsten Hucho, Scientific-Administrative Coordinator and Head of the Department of Technology & Transfer, will represent the institute on 4 November in an inspiring discussion on the future of the Teufelsberg Campus.
The bilingual event, “The Teufelsberg Campus – Reimagine Transformation,” brings together international guests from science, culture, and civil society to explore new forms of learning, research, and social transformation. It is organized by Teufelsberg Campus Berlin, supported by Brain City Berlin, TU Berlin, the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) SDG 11 Chair Hub, and URBAN UTOPIA.
Once a relic of the Cold War and now a landmark of creative reuse, Teufelsberg is being reimagined as a campus for transformation and future-oriented dialogue. The site has always embodied change — from rubble hill to listening station, from abandoned site to a symbol of artistic freedom. Now, its story continues as a place that not only remembers the past but also listens to the future.
Carsten will moderate a panel discussion featuring diverse perspectives from science, culture, and society. The event will be held in both German and English. Participation is free, but registration is required as places are limited.
