Prof. Manfred Bayer to receive President of the Year Award

This year the Deutsche Hochschulverband (DHV) (German University Association) is presenting their President of the Year award to Prof. Manfred Bayer, President of TU Dortmund since 2020. Prof. Bayer also served as chairman of PDI’s Scientific Advisory Board until his term ended last year. 

The DHV award has been recognizing exemplary leadership in science for the last 16 years, and is operated by the Zentrum für Evaluation und Methoden at the University of Bonn. Prof. Bayer received the highest votes out of 48 participating universities and will receive €10,000 to finance a university-related project of his choice. The official award ceremony will take place on March 25th as part of the German Science Gala in Berlin.

PDI’s Scientific Advisory Board is a group of national and international researchers who advise PDI on scientific matters and discuss its strategic direction. During his time as chairman of PDI’s Scientific Advisory board, Prof. Bayer played a pivotal role, bringing his people-centred interdisciplinary approach to the institute’s strategic planning. PDI congratulates him on his achievement and wishes him continued success in his future endeavours.
