Superconducting Quantum Interference Device

The Quantum Design MPMS 5XL SQUID uses a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometer to monitor very small changes in magnetic flux in order to determine the magnetic properties of samples.

Data can be collected in the range H = O to ± 50 kOe and T = 1.7 K to 400 K. The maximum sensitivity of the instrument is in the range of 10-9 emu.
