Invited Talk: Dr. Markus Wagner to Speak at Phononics 2025

/ Announcements

Dr. Markus Wagner, Head of the Semiconductor Spectroscopy Department at PDI, has been invited to deliver a talk at Phononics 2025: the 7th International Conference on Phononic Crystals/Metamaterials, Phonon Transport, and Topological Phononics, which will take place from 9–13 June 2025 at Seoul National University, Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Phononics 2025 brings together leading experts in the field to discuss recent theoretical and experimental advances in phononic systems. As the field continues to evolve—driven by progress in nanoscale fabrication, artificial intelligence-assisted materials design, and the expanding range of phononic applications across energy conversion, signal processing, and mechanical wave control—the conference aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue on the fundamental mechanisms and emerging technologies underpinning phonon transport, phononic crystals, and topological phononic states.

In addition to overseeing the Spectroscopy department at PDI, Dr. Wagner contributes to PDI's core research areas III-V Nanowires for Optoelectronics, Novel Functional Oxide Materials, and Nitride Semiconductors, and is a lecturer at the Technische Universität Berlin. His invited contribution to Phononics 2025 highlights the international recognition of his work and underscores PDI’s continued role at the forefront of phonon-related research.
